【Setouchi triennal 2016】I went to 3 west island only one day! Everything were art in Takamishima.【Kagawa trip】
"Awashima" "Takamishima" "Honshima"
This 3 island were located in west area of Setouchi and only held exhibitions at autumn terms.
So I tried to go around this 3 islands only 1 day!
First island "Awashima" was so emotinal place.
Especially missing post office was awesome!
Next to "Awashima", I aimed this island.
11:10 Takamishima
Takamishima was small island and it has lots of steep uphill!
The population at Takamishima was decreased gradually.
And finally It was said only 40 people in Takamishima!!
That's why some of houses didn't have owner.
So these damaged houses and landscaoe looked like art.
Not only special art but also there were good art at daily landscape.
Go around Special art
All art were gathered so close that I thought I could go around about 1hour.
Journey of rust
This ship was composed of many rust things.
We couldn`t go inside and only watched from outside...
Transition House
Apparently, this house was uninteresting old house.
But once we entered it, there was so mysterious space!
Numerous halls were there and brought clean right.
These hall was made by glass!!
IROHAs(ABCs) of Preparedness
I aimed "Houses of pyrethrum" which was located in the middle of maountain.
So I needed to claim steep uphills!!
When I claimed, I found this powerful drawing!!
You can realize this size by the human in the pic.
IROHAs was old Japanese order like ABCs.
(Currently we said AIUs.)
House of Pyrethrum
This house was filled by unique smell.
It was smell of Pyrethrum.
This house told us about the history and how to make Pyrethrum.
Lots of pyrethrum mountain made art!!
One mountain was fired each one day.
And after burinig was finished, this mountain got ash and gray color.
Floating Garden and Terrace of island
This area was so crowded that I couldn’t see.
Especial,at "Floating Garden" there were so long line...
I should have here at first.
Hosipitality of Takashima
Takamishima was in the Depopulation.
But everyone in this island had so good hospitality!
Osettai
Osettai was Japanese so old culture especially at Shikoku area.
This culture is serving food and tea to pilgrim for free.
And this pilgrim is called "Ohenro"
At Takamishima there were some Osettai.
I could take a break and restore energy!
Osettai at Daisyou-ji(temple)
Especially, Daisyou-ji osettai was pretty nice!
Daisyou-ji was close "House of Pyrethrum".
This Osettai made our body refreshed!
Street of Takamishima
Depopulation at Takamisima was terrible.
As the result,many houses didn`t have their owner and were so old.
But these houses looked like art!!
Takamshima was almost mountain and many houses were gathered at small area.
So there were lot of these narrow street.
These street were really cool!
Of couse,the view from mountain was so nice!
Seteouchi triennal was finished by 6th November.
Next special art event will be held in 4 years.
But at Takamishima good landscape was there for good.
